{"id":1134,"date":"2010-12-01T22:03:47","date_gmt":"2010-12-01T12:03:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mindtomind.com\/?p=1134"},"modified":"2015-02-13T06:21:20","modified_gmt":"2015-02-13T12:21:20","slug":"are_you_important_holiday_season_message_brain_management","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mindtomind.com\/test\/are_you_important_holiday_season_message_brain_management\/","title":{"rendered":"Are You Important?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">I Wonder if you think of these things&#8230;<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>What would happen if you no longer had any friends or family around to remind you how important you are to them?<\/p>\n<p>What if you had a job where you know how unimportant you are and how easily you could be replaced by another unimportant person?<\/p>\n<p>What if everywhere you went you were just another face in the crowd, unnoticed.<\/p>\n<p>What if the only thing you ever really accomplished in life was to \u201cshow up\u201d?<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">An Insight:<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Someone recently reminded me of what self-importance is and how it is sometimes demonstrated.\u00a0 I had a contractor do some work for me.\u00a0 An emergency circumstance occurred that he had to attend to that I was not made aware of.\u00a0 All I knew was he left my job unfinished with no explanation.<\/p>\n<p>So when I contacted him, I was greeted with the ever pending answering machine.\u00a0 I did leave him an urgent message to get back with me and provide an explanation as to why he didn\u2019t finish the job.<\/p>\n<p>When he contacted me, he was upset with me!\u00a0 He immediately started by proclaiming how important he is.\u00a0 After I negotiated a truce, he finally explained about the emergency.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The Lesson:<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>There is nobody that is more or less important than anyone else.\u00a0 What makes us feel important is how others treat us.\u00a0 Some people strive to receive adoration.\u00a0 Some manipulate others to gain followers.\u00a0 Some have created a grandiose self-image.\u00a0 And some will live in misery to attract the attention it provides.\u00a0 All of these create a sense of self-importance.\u00a0 Mostly it is delusional.<\/p>\n<p>The most consistent things about important people is what they do for others.\u00a0 They don\u2019t need to do it loudly or from a pedestal.\u00a0 The just do it.\u00a0 They don\u2019t need appreciation or adoration.\u00a0 Sometimes their actions go unnoticed.\u00a0 And knowing they are important people is not something that is meaningful to their egos.<\/p>\n<p>I guess you could say that describes my wife.\u00a0 She is important to many people.\u00a0 She is relentless at helping others, as well as doing nice things for me.\u00a0 When I tell her she is important, she will usually reply,\u00a0 \u201cThat\u2019s nice.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Another reality:<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>There are plenty of people all around you that have lost their sense of importance.\u00a0 Take the moment to seek them out during this Holiday Season.\u00a0 Let them know they are important.\u00a0 It may be the most meaningful thing they have heard all year.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Great Things Happen Here!<\/span><\/em><\/h1>\n<p>Brain Management has many facets.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What if you no longer had any friends or family around to remind you how important you are to them?
