True Friends<\/strong><\/h1>\n

As you go through life<\/strong> you create many connections<\/strong> with others. Most of those connections<\/strong> have little to no true worth. Other connections are worthwhile and meaningful. This poem<\/strong> was presented to me as a result of a meaningful and worthwhile connection<\/strong> with someone else. By sharing it with you, I hope you will gain something from it as well.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

For this whom suffer me<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

And what are friends in all this life<\/em>
\nAnd where does one find such things<\/em>
\nFor in their hands there is no knife<\/em>
\nThe brain no unkind seeds<\/em>
\nThey see the unwashed linen<\/em>
\nHear you as you fart<\/em>
\nOn smelling thy fetid breath<\/em>
\nOffer just a drink<\/em>
\nBefore they go off to barf<\/em><\/p>\n

They are the ones who groped <\/em>
\nwith me , in dark murky emotional night<\/em>
\nto find the wall and then the gate<\/em>
\nwhich led toward the light<\/em><\/p>\n

They walked with me along the path<\/em>
\nOf perilous ascent<\/em>
\nAnd pressed me against the bluff<\/em>
\nFrom falling off the ledge<\/em><\/p>\n

Have held my hand<\/em>
\nWiped my tears<\/em>
\nTold me I was not stupid<\/em>
\nWhen I was shot by Cupid<\/em><\/p>\n

Suffered a fool to be a fool<\/em>
\nNever batting of an eye<\/em>
\nWhen all the while there screamed<\/em>
\nA voice \u201cwhy is he so stupid\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Oh can’t he see the path ahead<\/em>
\nIt is surely plain to see<\/em>
\nJust drink the cup of truth<\/em>
\nThere is no other need<\/em><\/p>\n

So whence come such as these<\/em>
\nThey surely be not easily made<\/em>
\nSome special forge there be<\/em>
\nTo create such precious metal<\/em><\/p>\n

To know the worthless stone<\/em>
\nWithin their hand, yet restrain<\/em>
\nFrom casting it asunder<\/em>
\nSome value yet they wonder<\/em><\/p>\n

As you embark on your journey, keep this in the back of your mind that “True Friends are hard to find”. The real rewards in life tend to be surprises that suddenly appear.<\/p>\n

It is nice to be appreciated.<\/p>\n
