7 Key Steps to Help You Discover Your Passion

Discover Your Passion

Being passionate is a wonderful place to be! Life becomes an entirely new experience.

My definition of passion is that it is a source of unlimited energy from your soul, or your spirit, or your heart that enables you to produce extraordinary results.

Most people, research shows, are not pursuing their passion or doing what they love.

When you discover your passion, you can end up doing the same work and remain in the same relationships as you are doing now, but your experience is remarkably different.

There are two broad avenues that are open to you:

1. Discover what you are passionate about, and then pursue that; or

2. Realize, and become highly conscious of, how your existing work and activities generate income for you that enable you to pursue your passion (such as caring for your family, or taking your annual fishing holidays, or making a contribution to your community). I promise that your passion for your current work will rise dramatically.

7 Key Steps

Here are 7 key steps that I guarantee will have an impact in helping you to discover your passion. I have developed these key steps from my work over the past 18 years in my role as Australasia’s Passion Provocateur ©. I will share additional steps in a future blog.

I confidently predict that you won’t like some of these.

That’s why I’m Australasia’s Passion Provocateur: I provoke. You can’t get ‘un-lost’ by doing what you’ve always done! And what you have done so far is what you have become comfortable doing.

You need to get out of your comfort zone.

Step 1. You need to be willing to work at the problem.

Most people are not interested in working, they just want a quick fix. There is no quick fix. I’m not interested in helping people who just want a quick fix. Tackle the problem as if it’s the most important thing in the world, because in my opinion it is the most important thing in your whole world. Remember my definition of passion: ‘an unlimited source of energy from your soul, or your spirit, or your heart that enables you to generate extra-ordinary results’. This is your soul’s journey, to discover your passion! What is more important than this?

Step 2. Review your life from your earliest conscious memories and consider, THEN WRITE, the answers to these questions:

a. When did I have lots of fun?

b. What spontaneously aroused my interest?

c. What upset me? What made me angry?

d. What am I most proud of that I have achieved so far?

e. Who are my friends and what is it about them that attracts me?

f. What did I dream my life would be?

g. What do I fear?

Step 3. What are your personal values? What behaviors do you wish to exhibit?

Step 4. What do you believe about yourself, both positive and negative? Write these out.

Step 5. What do you believe about the world and the role of human beings on the planet? Write these out.

Step 6. What do you believe about money? Are these beliefs useful or not for you?

NOTE: None of your beliefs are TRUTH: it is true you believe them, but they are not truth. You can change any beliefs that don’t serve you.

Step 7. Write a list of goals that would be of interest for you to achieve in the next 20 years. These will be short-term (1 month – 2 years), medium-term (2-5 years), and long-term. These goals include mental goals, physical goals and spiritual goals. They include experiences you would like to have.

I promise you that if you do the above work, the results will be remarkable.

You will discover a new you. You will gain insights into your soul’s journey and your true passions.

Are You Depressed?

Too many decisions …

If you are like most people, you must make too many decisions every day of your life.  You feel overwhelmed from all of your carefully considered decisions.

Scientists have proven that if we have any more than 7 things to choose from, we go into overload, so by the time we go through the grocery store, we are in meltdown.  They have even connected this to Clinical Depression.

For example; I will take you on a tour of what you can expect for simple decision making, starting at the beginning of your day.  (Obviously, this really isn’t you because you would never do these things this way.)

The alarm goes off.  Do you set your alarm for a “snooze”, and for how long?  Do you just lie there a while?  Do you get up ready to take on the day?  Or do you turn over and go back to sleep?  That was 5 decisions, and you haven’t even made it out of bed.

You decide to get up and get dressed.  You go to the closet full of clothes and declare,  “I have nothing to wear.” After deciding on a matching top and bottom with socks and shoes, you toss them back and decide to wear the same thing you had on yesterday.  There goes another 5 or more decisions.  For some people this one act could amount to hundreds of decisions.

You finally decide that is a good time to have a wholesome breakfast instead of the same old breakfast you have every day.  You begin by deciding what ingredients you want for your breakfast.  You pull them all out and get ready, …  Then you decide it will take too long.  So you put it all back and sit down to your usual bowl of gruel that you are accustomed to.  Another 5 or more decisions.

DON’T LAUGH!  You may be this person.

What happens when your routine breaks down and forces you to make new decisions?  What if you are on your way to work  (Well, at least you made it out of the house without being half naked.),  you get into the car; you turn the key, and …  nothing.  Now you are faced with a whole new handful of decisions to make.  You must decide what to do about getting to work, fixing the car, and many other decisions about things that contribute to your circumstances.

Confusion!  You Bet!

With all the things swirling around in your head, you will think you are walking around in a fog.  YOU ARE!  This is the mental fog that is created by needing to make too many decisions;  and it further obscures your ability to make “clear” decisions.

Sorry for giving you depressing news about someone’s depressing day.  You can just go back to bed and forget it all until you wake back up.  (Ooops, it’s still there.) Or today, you can decide to be proactive in an effort to clear those cobwebs from your mind.

Here are some ways of doing just that:

  • Meditation
  • Mental exercises that strengthen your mind and gives you focus
  • Giving your brain new information that it is not accustomed to.   This creates a type of growth and change called neural-plasticity.

If you are serious about helping yourself crawl out of the miasma you have created then you owe it to yourself to consider what ZOX Pro Training offers. You know you need to do something different.  You owe it to yourself and those you care about.  They are affected by your decisions too.

Remember: Anything you want to change or improve requires information you currently do not have.  You need essential information fast.  We have your solution.

How To Google Books Online – Amazon Amazing

How To Google a Book

Many of my clients need huge volumes of information. Here is one solution:

Have you ever wanted to know how to Google books online that you have heard about?  Maybe you only have the topic to go from.  How would you Google a book you are looking for?  Imagine how overwhelming it is to conduct a Google search for a book in only 1 topic. Depending on your topic, you could have many millions of choices to select from.  Let’s take Golf for a working example.

I just typed in book golf into the Google Search and found over 10 million references.  But when I type in golf book, I get 578 million references. The first lesson here is put the words in the right order to get closer to what you want. Unfortunately, your choice is giving you 578 million. It is time to narrow the search.

A Typical Google Book Search

I can use quotation marks to define my search more.  I have decided I want to search for a golf book by Tiger Woods.  So, I type in “Tiger Woods” golf book, and come up with 77 million entries.   Then we can get the number down further by typing “Tiger Woods Golf Book”, which brings it down to 153,000 entries.  That is still a bit much, but at least you are breathing again.

So, the next step I take is to click from Google to Amazon.com.  That was an easy choice. Amazon.com currently has 268 results for “Tiger Woods Golf Book”.  So you have finally come up with a realistic number for “Tiger Woods Golf Book”.  If Tiger Woods is your idol and you want to learn as much as possible about him and what he does, then you have the next few years to “read” about it.  You need to remember, if you are just using reading to gain your information, much of the information you gain will be obsolete by the time you get a chance to use it.

I know a lot of people that suck up books like a vacuum cleaner.  Those people have learned Mental Photography, or ZOXing.  While ZOXers will gain hundreds, even thousands of books each year, you could only gain 40, maybe 50 if you are very avid reader. Did you know that most people read less than 5 books in a year? (Sorry, magazines don’t count.)

“Libraries are full of books that never get read.”

So, if you plan to Google books, you now know a few tips to help you with your Google search. But, you better prepare yourself with Mental Photography, or ZOXing, when you find the topic you really want to learn about.

What is your Lie Temperature? Hot? Warm? Cold?

White lies, little lies, big fat whopping lies, curly tailed lies, and curl you hair lies, and any other type of lie you can think of. Why do people lie so much?

Why do most people lie?

When was the last time you found yourself in an awkward position, and instead of telling the truth, you lied to protect someone’s feelings or you didn’t want the truth to hurt?  Yes, even that is actually a lie.

Some people lie for fun and for gain. After you review this article, you may change the way you do things.  It is a bit of a departure from the comedy movie “Liar Liar” with Jim Carrey.  At least in the movies, it turns out all right.  Just think what it would be if your profession required you to lie as part of your career?

And of course there is the person that doesn’t lie for gain or for that matter, anything else, the compulsive liar. They just must lie about most everything. They even start to believe their lies, and become delusional.

What does lying do to you?

Whenever you create a non-truth, you are setting up a negative vibration in your body.  This vibration has a direct effect on the most finely tuned component in your bodily system.  That component is your brain.  Where do all the signals originate that control all the functions of your body?  Your brain, of course.  So, if you are putting wrenches in the gears of the way your mind works, what do you think is going to happen?

Most of you know about those little white lies, and some of you know about more forms of lying. Some of you may have it honed to an art form. No matter what, they all add up. I refer to this as “congestion” This congestion gets in the way of you making decisions, of seeing the world clearly, and leads to breakdowns of the system itself.

“If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all.”

I heard it as a child, and it has stood the test of time. I changed it a bit though.
“If you cannot say the truth, don’t say anything at all.”

Break the habit.

I had the opportunity to talk to someone that wanted to break their habit of lying.  On advice from a psychologist, they were to wear a rubber band on each wrist, like bracelets.  (Of course, you know what’s coming next…) Any time they lied, for any reason, they were to snap their wrist with the rubber band bracelet.  Unfortunately, they did a lot of lying.  That person eventually had to go to the emergency room of the hospital to have the blisters on their wrists treated.  Point in fact;  lying is a habit that you may find difficult to break.

But, I don’t lie!

I have heard that before, too many times.  Here is a safer, less painful way to find out how much you lie.  Get yourself a notepad and pen that you can easily carry with you.  For a 24-hour period, in your normal every day routine, any time you lie, or say something that is not true, write it down, and the circumstances around it, including any justifications.  You will most likely be amazed at how often you lie throughout your day, and why.

What do I do next?

Now that you have built your scorecard, make an effort to not lie as much the next day.  By keeping score, you will find it easier to decrease the amount that you lie over a period of time.  Think of it as a “Liars Diet”. (Ha Ha!)

What do I have to gain by not lying?

You can start with “respect”.  But this will affect many things that you probably have not even considered;  even your health.  The reason is when you clutter your mind with “junk”, which should not be accumulating;  your brain does not have the ability to function effectively.  This affects your physical body as well as your mental abilities.

You will affect your mental clarity, your decision making process, even your health.  All of these things, and more, are affected any time you are causing congestion.  (Lying is only one source of congestion.)

Brain management is a task you should undertake daily.  It has been shown when people regularly do things that help their brain function properly and exercise their brain;  it lessens the onset of complications like dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

I enjoy helping people with their personal struggle to emerge better than they were.  The brain and the workings of the mind are the fulcrum to making your effort count.

Spontaneous Insight or Flash in the Pan?

Are your insights spontaneous?

What have you done lately to support your insights? Have you taken steps to increase mental clarity?   Do you have the ability to be flexible with information?  Do you have ways to access and use large amounts of information fast?  Have you set aside the “lateral” from your lateral thinking, leaving you with just “thinking” about what could be?
Insights are your mental edge in life.  They are our ability to foresee problems and invent solutions;  and they are your opportunity for success and greatness.  I guess that means the whole world could do with a little more insight.  But, this is not about the world;  this is about YOU.

What can I do about it?

Well how do you go about strengthening your ability to have more insight?  Mental discipline is the easiest answer, because it will increase your brain power so you can achieve these feats.  Once you learn how to manage your brain, you gain clarity.  You begin to see life and the world around you in a new light.  This new perception will give you avenue to solve the same old problem in completely new ways.

Most mind disciplines use meditation because it is the most consistent and effective way to clear the cobwebs from your mind and gain FOCUS.  You should use meditation over an extended period of time.  You would first be using it to clean up the circumstances you currently face.  Then, as you continue to use meditation, it will assist you with your goals, your life path, and mapping out the incredible journey you are on.

Dedicated meditators feel “A day without meditation is like a day without sunshine!”, and that you should start each day with some sort of meditation, no matter how brief.  One of the primary things that most people are taught to do while meditating is plotting your path to success.  This is also referred to as subconscious programming or self-hypnosis.  The best thing about it is it puts you into the driver’s seat.  You are the one in control.

The only downside to subconscious programming is knowing what you need to program to gain your results.  It may just be your lack of information that sets you back.  There is a companion technique that gives you ample information to use for programming.  Even better;  you get the information at the same vibrational energy as your meditation.  You can even receive information that you cannot consciously remember, but that your subconscious has stored.  This technique for gaining information is called Mental Photography. It allows the user to transcend the normal conscious speed of comprehension, which is slow and laborious.

So, how do I get my Programs to work?

Do you want your programs to work, or just work better?  With Mental Photography in your arsenal, they will.  Just imagine how the Law of Attraction will accelerate around you.  When you have the information already formatted for your personal “download”, anything and everything can happen – fast.  Your insights will become so automated, things will simply be happening almost before you are even thinking about them. We refer to this as instantaneous manifestation.

Really?…

You may think I am out on a limb here.  My experience has shown me incredible things are not only possible, they are probable.  You can choose to make the difference in your life by gaining clarity, insight, information, and success.

I don’t know too many people that are just “satisfied” sitting there doing nothing. So, don’t just sit there. Do something!

As I pointed out in the past, the world is not fair. It does not care about you.  You are the only one that will make the difference.  You must participate.  Start today!
