Information Overload – Killing Your Brain?

Information Overload – Killing Your Brain?

Information Overload, Reading and Photographic Memory

Overwhelmed by information overload? Take a look at this!

According to statistics from WorldWideWebSize.com there are 7.39 billion pages on the internet and only 2,267,233,746 internet users. It is estimated that it would take one person 31,000 years to visit all sites available to them online without any sleep.

What would happen if you decided to become an expert in your chosen field? You would have to learn the information it takes to become that expert by reading information. We can’t just open a book and read it to become an expert. It takes at least four years of institutional studying, reading and due diligence. Or is there another way?

Where to find the information? On the Internet! But, you are still stuck with reading. Your PC can provide volumes in minutes, but you are still stuck with that same old way of doing things.

Using Your Photographic Memory for Internet Information

By the time you read the information available to make you an EXPERT in your chosen field, most of that information would be obsolete.

Let’s put your brain to work.  If you were to reverse-engineer what we have just covered, where is the bottleneck?  What is stopping you from covering the required information in only a little time?

The bigger the internet gets, the more information there is. The more we want to consume it. This has to stop somewhere. And it will.

Reading

The biggest problem here is it stops you from taking ACTION. When you try to consume more and more information every day, you start to notice that even though you’ve been reading tons of articles, eBooks, press release and so on the stream of incoming information seems to be overwhelming.

Therefore, you most likely will convince yourself that you need to be on a constant lookout for new information if you want to be able to accomplish anything in your life, work and/or passion.

What is your reading average – Photographic Memory

Reading speed averages ~250 words per minute – usually less than one page in a minute.
Wouldn’t it be nice if you could cover information like a living breathing computer, accessing millions of words per minute?  Wouldn’t it be great if you could be filling your mind with 25,000, 100,000, even 200,000 words per minute?  What about that photographic memory that you were born with?

Well, you better not take too long to think about it.  You are not just being left in the dust; you are buried and pushing up posies!  Watch out, another day gone,  here comes another billion pages at you.

I Don’t Read, I ZOX !!!

What is your Lie Temperature? Hot? Warm? Cold?

White lies, little lies, big fat whopping lies, curly tailed lies, and curl you hair lies, and any other type of lie you can think of. Why do people lie so much?

Why do most people lie?

When was the last time you found yourself in an awkward position, and instead of telling the truth, you lied to protect someone’s feelings or you didn’t want the truth to hurt?  Yes, even that is actually a lie.

Some people lie for fun and for gain. After you review this article, you may change the way you do things.  It is a bit of a departure from the comedy movie “Liar Liar” with Jim Carrey.  At least in the movies, it turns out all right.  Just think what it would be if your profession required you to lie as part of your career?

And of course there is the person that doesn’t lie for gain or for that matter, anything else, the compulsive liar. They just must lie about most everything. They even start to believe their lies, and become delusional.

What does lying do to you?

Whenever you create a non-truth, you are setting up a negative vibration in your body.  This vibration has a direct effect on the most finely tuned component in your bodily system.  That component is your brain.  Where do all the signals originate that control all the functions of your body?  Your brain, of course.  So, if you are putting wrenches in the gears of the way your mind works, what do you think is going to happen?

Most of you know about those little white lies, and some of you know about more forms of lying. Some of you may have it honed to an art form. No matter what, they all add up. I refer to this as “congestion” This congestion gets in the way of you making decisions, of seeing the world clearly, and leads to breakdowns of the system itself.

“If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all.”

I heard it as a child, and it has stood the test of time. I changed it a bit though.
“If you cannot say the truth, don’t say anything at all.”

Break the habit.

I had the opportunity to talk to someone that wanted to break their habit of lying.  On advice from a psychologist, they were to wear a rubber band on each wrist, like bracelets.  (Of course, you know what’s coming next…) Any time they lied, for any reason, they were to snap their wrist with the rubber band bracelet.  Unfortunately, they did a lot of lying.  That person eventually had to go to the emergency room of the hospital to have the blisters on their wrists treated.  Point in fact;  lying is a habit that you may find difficult to break.

But, I don’t lie!

I have heard that before, too many times.  Here is a safer, less painful way to find out how much you lie.  Get yourself a notepad and pen that you can easily carry with you.  For a 24-hour period, in your normal every day routine, any time you lie, or say something that is not true, write it down, and the circumstances around it, including any justifications.  You will most likely be amazed at how often you lie throughout your day, and why.

What do I do next?

Now that you have built your scorecard, make an effort to not lie as much the next day.  By keeping score, you will find it easier to decrease the amount that you lie over a period of time.  Think of it as a “Liars Diet”. (Ha Ha!)

What do I have to gain by not lying?

You can start with “respect”.  But this will affect many things that you probably have not even considered;  even your health.  The reason is when you clutter your mind with “junk”, which should not be accumulating;  your brain does not have the ability to function effectively.  This affects your physical body as well as your mental abilities.

You will affect your mental clarity, your decision making process, even your health.  All of these things, and more, are affected any time you are causing congestion.  (Lying is only one source of congestion.)

Brain management is a task you should undertake daily.  It has been shown when people regularly do things that help their brain function properly and exercise their brain;  it lessens the onset of complications like dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

I enjoy helping people with their personal struggle to emerge better than they were.  The brain and the workings of the mind are the fulcrum to making your effort count.

Independence and Freedom For All

Independence, Freedom, or Idiom?

Ask yourself, what does Independence and Freedom mean to you?  Is it something you cherish, or is it something you say with offhand disregard;  meaningless – an idiom?

Independence is defined as being free of that which binds you, or your freedom from obstacles that inhibit progressWOW! That’s a whopper!

So what are the things that inhibit your progress, bind you, or prevent you from being free?  I believe your list would be very long.  So let’s narrow the parameters a little to see where it takes us.

Since this is MindToMind.com, we should narrow it to your mind, your mental process, your beliefs, your inhibitions etc.  In other words, what or who manipulates you or inhibits the way you think about things.

One of the easiest ways for you to be inhibited or prevent yourself from doing things that you want to do, or being the person you really want to be, is fear.  The fear resides within you.  But in most circumstances that fear did not originally come from you.  It was given to you from something or someone else.

Most times these fears are installed in us from people.  It may seem harmless in the way it is approached.  People may say things like, “You don’t want to be that way. What will other people think?” Other people can be ‘that way’, and often they are.  But you will take it on board that you should not be ‘that way’, because of someone’s opinion.

I can give you a clear example of what I am saying.  I will use an example from past times, so don’t beat me up with nostalgia.  Let’s start with you and your best friend walking down the street.  You see someone you recognize and you remark how “cool” that person is.  Your friend answers, “You don’t want to be like that.” As time goes on, no matter what it relates to, anytime you mention something is “cool”, your friend upends you.

It’s time for a decision.  Either you decide to be cool, like cool things, and do cool things, or you decide to keep your friend, be un-cool and do only un-cool things.  More than likely, from that point on, any time in your life, cool things will automatically be rejected by you.  Yes, I know,… it is a little over simplified but is an example.  It’s not set in stone.

Mental Exercise

Look back in your past memories in your mind and find events that turned your attention to a different direction.  These can still inhibit you today.  These are the things that block your progress.  They restrict your freedom and limit your independence.

You can be an independent person if you choose to.  If you want your independence back, your freedom to choose for yourself, then you need a system that supports your efforts and gives you the ability to move yourself, and your mind, in that direction.

From my educated point of view, you need information;  lots of it, and you also need a device that will assist you in manifesting change in your life.  It would also help if you had a way to exercise your brain, make it stronger, and clear of the cobwebs for better decision making.

You must be thinking right now.  “There must be some type of system that does all these things, and can truly help me gain independence and freedom; to be more the person I want to be.”

Well, guess what?  There just happens to be an independence freedom machine very close at hand.  It’s easy to use as well.  Have you ever heard of ZOX Pro Training?  What about Brain Management?

Are you tired of not being the vibrant independent person you believe you should be.  Here is your chance.  CHANGE IT!

Yes, you can obtain the freedom you truly deserve.  Learn to create your independence in your mind first.  Then it will show up in all aspects of your life.  Free yourself!

Brain Joke: Rhinoplasty – Revisited

Once in a while I want to see what my fans  sensibilities are.  This was one of those times.  It is with no surprise that I confounded quite a few people with a joke.

The joke (for reference) again is:

I just had Rhinoplasty, because eyes nose too much.

1.  No, I did not have rhinoplasty.  It is a joke.  But thanks for the concern.

2.  Rhinoplasty is plastic surgery or reconstructive surgery around the proboscis / nose area of the face.

3.  If a person just had rhinoplasty performed on their face, most likely that person would be numb enough to slur their words.  So, “eyes nose” translates to “I know”.

4.  And of course the play on the words “eyes” and “nose” as the area most likely affected by rhinoplasty.

5.  Then, the resulting phrase “I know too much” results from my personal adventure with Mental Photography or ZOXing, and the amount of knowledge I have gained over the years of using the system I teach.

So, there you have it.

Ponder this;  I was able to contain all that information, and a few things not discussed, into a single phrase.  As a source of personal entertainment, try it for yourself and see how you do.

Have Fun!

Brain Joke: Rhinoplasty Smells Bad – Think

If I ever give you a joke, you should cherish it as a unique day.  Well, today is a unique day.

Typical of the types of jokes that would have me rolling around on the floor laughing, usually leaves others wondering or thinking what the joke was all about.  My jokes tend to be deep, thought provoking, and like this joke, it pokes fun at society.

Without any further lead up to my twisted brain teasing, mind altering Joke, here it is:

I just had Rhinoplasty, because eyes nose too much.

Now for those of you that just didn’t get it, I’ll give you a hint. Say, “Eyes Nose too much” 3 times fast and out loud.  You should be able to get it then.

Since I invented the joke, if you wish to pass it on, just let people know where you saw it first – www.MINDtoMIND.com Hopefully it will go viral (doubt it…).

Enjoy your day!
