10 Crazy Facts about Christopher Columbus – Happy Columbus Day

Columbus Day – A Day of Discovery

…plus a Free Brain Management Lesson

Have you ever thought, “I wish I had all the information…” before solving a problem?

We take information for granted, and it can undermine our results when we do. Here is an example of just how facts can change the way you think about things, or change the way you go about solving problems

Discovery…

In the 1400s, it was a very different world than what we live in today. Filth, rats, and disease were considered normal. So it is not surprising that some of the facts about Christopher Columbus may shock you…

Did you know Christopher Columbus was a pirate and slave trader, and was taken back to Spain in chains? Discover this and more. Facts build Truth.

Happy Columbus Day!

Columbus Slave Trader

Christopher Columbus Discovers America?

10 crazy facts about Christopher Columbus…

(There are other shocking facts too, but I stopped at 10.)

  1. Christopher Columbus DID NOT discover the main land mass of America. He only discovered the West Indies; which he named such, believing he had reached the western edge of India. He never set foot on the mainland of North America.

2. The first sight of land was on October 12, 1492. This island in the Bahamas (Caribbean) was named Rodrigo de Triana. It is now called San Salvador.

3. Before getting his commission and setting off to discover the trade route, Christopher Columbus was a PIRATE and made a living attacking other ships.

4. Christopher Columbus became a SLAVE TRADER.  He pioneered the American Slave Trade. Excerpts from Columbus’ logbook note that the natives “…would make fine servants. With 50 men we could subjugate them and make them do whatever we want.” He later wrote, “Let us in the name of the Holy Trinity go on sending all the slaves that can be sold.”

5. Columbus destroyed the native population of Haiti (the Taino Indians); mainly through contagious diseases; but also forced gold taxation leading to torture, murder, suicides and the like. He then began shipping African slaves to the island, which has had consequences reaching into modern day.

6. The birth name of Christopher Columbus was Cristoforo Colombo. He was born in Italy.

7. The crew of the first voyage consisted of 24 men for the Nina, 26 for the Pinta, and 40 for the Santa Maria. There were NO WOMEN allowed.

8. The name of Columbus’ ship “Pinta”, is Spanish for “Prostitute”.

9. Half of Columbus’ voyages ended in disaster. On his first voyage (1492), his fully outfitted flagship, the Santa Maria, ran aground and sank. On his fourth trip, his ship rotted away and he spent a year with his men marooned on Jamaica.

10. Christopher Columbus has been viewed as an intrepid explorer, a monster, and a slave trader; who unleashed horrors and conquest upon unsuspecting natives. He was the first in a long line of many in the continued conquest of the Americas. However, scholars note #Columbus had both admirable qualities and negative ones: even though it appears he was brave, Columbus is also seen as a very flawed human being.

In Columbus’ day, things were looked at differently. He was probably seen as a hero, and in some ways a good business man. Even to this day, some of his achievements are still celebrated in his name. But over time, the facts about him and his achievements have been blurred and forgotten by the masses. Does it make Columbus any less of a man? That is for you to decide.

Your Brain Management Lesson:

Quality Information = Great Decisions

Don’t take information for granted. There are hidden facts underneath the truth. #Discover the facts. Good decisions are important to your quality of life. If you make your decisions based upon the masses, you get mediocre results. If you have poor information, you will make poor choices. If you approach problems with wisdom gained from the facts, your decisions will have the best results.

With all the decisions you must make daily, it is difficult to glean all the information you need, if you rely on reading and speed reading. The speed at which you absorb the information is relatively slow. You experience a bottleneck. You know you can get information much faster, but your technique is holding you back. But there is something in your brain that makes it 100 times more difficult — your short term memory.

Short Term Memory = Hippocampus

The processing to handle short term memory is done by the hippocampus. In short, the job of the #Hippocampus is to FORGET; not to remember. Your hippocampus chooses what bits are important (only 5%) and forgets the rest. This is why most people claim, “I forgot what I just read.” And only the 5% is what makes it into your long term memory.

Teachers in the educational system give you a heap of remedies to increase your long term memory of the information you gather. But, all of them consume time. Time is the one thing you cannot get back or replace. It is gone. You need a system that that outperforms the learning system you are taught in school; to STOP forgetting the information you must remember.

Plug into Your Matrix…

Until “plugging in” to get your information downloaded, like in the movie, “The Matrix” becomes commonplace, you need a system utilizing your photographic memory, that uses your brain in the same fashion; but without all of the gimmicks.

You can set your brain in motion in incredible ways to get fantastic results. This is done through a series of brain building exercises. The ordinary exercises like Sudoku, crossword puzzles, and such are not enough to overcome the stress threshold you need for neuroplasticity to occur; or the point at which your brain automatically triggers growth of more neurons and synapse. That is where Mental Photography (ZOXing) comes in. It provides the stimulus needed to move you above and beyond the growth threshold of #Neuroplasticity.

Summary:

To make your best decisions, you need A-Grade Quality Information.

To get A-Grade quality information fast, you must be using your #PhotographicMemory through your subconscious.

To gain the best results with your memory and all-round brain function, you must use brain exercises that are capable of triggering neuroplasticity to occur.

Or you can continue to lead a mediocre life using mediocre information to make your mediocre decisions. It takes no effort. Just continue to do things the old-fashioned way you were taught by your teachers at school.

Mesmerized by the Headlights of Oncoming Traffic?

Mesmerized …

Mesmerized

Mesmerized

(We like the picture of the deer better than a black and white picture of ‘ol Franz Mesmer.)

In honor of Franz Anton Mesmer (1734-1815), a German Physician and an ICON of a bygone era. Mesmer theorized a natural energetic transference that occurred between all animated and inanimate objects that he called “Animal Magnetism.” Along with his theory, Mesmer lives on in the state of being that bears his name, “mesmerized.” (One badge of great honor is to have one’s name become a part of the general vocabulary.)

Are you Completely Mesmerized?

If you have ever experienced the feeling you were the “deer caught in the headlights of oncoming traffic, as if you are about to be run over, you have.

Decisions, Decisions

Do you make important decisions readily? Or do you resort to flipping a coin? Do you procrastinate while vainly hoping that the decision will make itself and the problem will just go away? As a procrastinator, you will often surprise yourself by the feeling of feeling that you experience by simply making a decision.

Solving Problems

On the other hand, sometimes what looks like procrastination is actually constructive. If you have a big problem that prevents you from making progress in other areas of your life, one of the best ways to break the logjam is to sleep on it!

Sleeping on a problem works. Even in the absence of meditation or other mental disciplines, sleep frees your mind to find solutions that evade your waking mind.

Your mind has vast stores of information. But during the day, your conscious mind crowds out much of that storehouse of information, especially when your stress levels are high. At night, when your mind is quiet, your mind can devote its entire energy to sorting through your challenges. This is why many times you wake up with clear solutions to problems that you had wrestled with for the day before.

So, the next time you feel like a deer caught in the headlights, you will know exactly what to do. Go to sleep!

Learn Your Lessons Well

Learn Your Lessons Well

Small Piece of Large Universe - 400w

What is Your Universe?
What are Your Limits?
Discover Yourself!

What is a Lesson?

When people tell you about learning lessons, what does that mean to you? How would you go about learning lessons if you do not have an understanding of what a lesson is, or what lessons are about? Why are lessons important?

“To Learn Life’s Lessons well, you must first understand the Universe around you.”

You will usually learn something about lessons when you begin school. Most teachers there will have a Lesson Plan, or a schedule of things they will be teaching you. Therefore, in this case, learning a lesson would be learning what your teacher is teaching you. For example, let’s say today the class is meant to learn the “times 2” numbers table. So the numbers table is explained to the class, examples given, then after being instructed on how to go about doing it, you, along with everyone else, get to recite it. The term “Learn your Lesson Well”, would be when you can demonstrate you know the table and what information it has; you have learned it well.

That is how it works in a structured plan.

Lessons in the Real World

When you go out into the world, you are on your own. The lessons in the real world have to do with your decisions, and the repercussions of your decisions. When you make a good decision, it generally will give a good feeling for a short amount of time. But, what happens when you make a bad decision. That gives you a different sensation. That other sensation is often called “pain”. Pain is the repercussion of making an incorrect decision. Pain can show up in many ways – physical pain, emotional pain, financial pain, etc.

Why do you think we are meant to feel pain when we make a wrong decision? If you sense pain as a result of your actions, you will likely think twice about doing it that way again, right? What if you forget about the pain you experienced the first time you made an incorrect decision? What do you think will happen if you make the same bad choice, again? Interestingly, the pain, as a result of your actions becomes bigger and more intense than the first time. Therefore, you keep abusing yourself more each time you make that same mistake. So, what will your next big mistake be when you are making decisions?

So, what you have just learned is when you make an error in your decisions, you will experience pain, until you “learn your lesson”. Also, if you are experiencing pain, there is likely a lesson attached to it. Look for the lesson. If you learn your lessons well, then you will be experiencing less pain on your journey than someone that does not understand lessons.

Your Universe around You

Look around you. You are literally the center of your Universe. It is your paradigm, your reality that you have created that interacts with the rest of the world. Your lessons deal with issues in your Universe and your reality. Therefore, those lessons are for you, and only you. Only you can really determine what they mean. Ultimately, you are the person that must deal with your lessons. Other people have their lessons they are responsible for. You have yours that you are responsible for as well. As your journey unfolds before you, you discover yourself and what you are doing here in this world. You also begin to understand the complex nature of your Universe. By understanding your Universe, you can glean much more information from your lessons.

By stepping forth and embracing your Universe, you are finding yourself and gaining an understanding as to what your lessons mean for you.

Good Luck, enjoy life, and Learn your lessons well!

Mesmerized by the Headlights of Oncoming Traffic?

Are you mesmerized standing before the headlights of life?

In honor of an Icon of a bygone era, Franz Anton Mesmer (1734 – 1815) German Physician, theorized a natural energetic transference that occurred between all animated and inanimate objects that he called “Animal Magnetism“. (Great honor is bestowed upon those whose own name becomes a word that transcends their own life and discoveries.)

Do you ever feel like you are the rabbit caught in the headlights of oncoming traffic? You freeze, even though you are about to be run over.

Decisions

How has your ability to make decisions been lately? Do you make important decisions easily and quickly? Do you just flip a coin? Or do you procrastinate, hoping the problem will just go away?

You would find that simply making a decision will lift a heavy burden from your shoulders. It gives you such a feeling of freedom. The foe is vanquished!

Solving Problems

Most people will already know this method of finding solutions. But it never hurts to hear it again… If you have a big problem, you tend to think about it. You think about it so much that it gets in the way of you carrying out your daily activities. Yes, it really is a problem because it is
stopping you from succeeding at the smallest objectives.

Has anyone ever told you to “sleep on it“? The reason most people tell you to sleep on a problem, is they have had success solving their own problems the same way. They enjoy sharing that “tip” for success.

Sleeping on a problem works. Without needing to take up meditation or another mental discipline to free your mind in order to find solutions, you are letting your sleeping state do it for you. The amount of information your mind has available is immense. But during your day-life, you would find it difficult to access all of it; under stress, and you have not conditioned you mind for such tasks.

Therefore, all night long your mind is working on solving your problem. During your day, you are lucky to have 10 minutes of quiet before being interrupted. Maybe you should schedule an appointment with yourself!

So, it is no surprise when you wake up in the morning and find the solution to your problem is right there in front of you. You know what to do. Now you must act upon it. It really does you no good if you are not going to act upon the solution your own mind has worked out for you. You must have confidence in yourself and your actions.

So, then next time you feel like that rabbit facing down the headlights of your destiny, you will know what to do… Go to sleep!

Are You Depressed?

Too many decisions …

If you are like most people, you must make too many decisions every day of your life.  You feel overwhelmed from all of your carefully considered decisions.

Scientists have proven that if we have any more than 7 things to choose from, we go into overload, so by the time we go through the grocery store, we are in meltdown.  They have even connected this to Clinical Depression.

For example; I will take you on a tour of what you can expect for simple decision making, starting at the beginning of your day.  (Obviously, this really isn’t you because you would never do these things this way.)

The alarm goes off.  Do you set your alarm for a “snooze”, and for how long?  Do you just lie there a while?  Do you get up ready to take on the day?  Or do you turn over and go back to sleep?  That was 5 decisions, and you haven’t even made it out of bed.

You decide to get up and get dressed.  You go to the closet full of clothes and declare,  “I have nothing to wear.” After deciding on a matching top and bottom with socks and shoes, you toss them back and decide to wear the same thing you had on yesterday.  There goes another 5 or more decisions.  For some people this one act could amount to hundreds of decisions.

You finally decide that is a good time to have a wholesome breakfast instead of the same old breakfast you have every day.  You begin by deciding what ingredients you want for your breakfast.  You pull them all out and get ready, …  Then you decide it will take too long.  So you put it all back and sit down to your usual bowl of gruel that you are accustomed to.  Another 5 or more decisions.

DON’T LAUGH!  You may be this person.

What happens when your routine breaks down and forces you to make new decisions?  What if you are on your way to work  (Well, at least you made it out of the house without being half naked.),  you get into the car; you turn the key, and …  nothing.  Now you are faced with a whole new handful of decisions to make.  You must decide what to do about getting to work, fixing the car, and many other decisions about things that contribute to your circumstances.

Confusion!  You Bet!

With all the things swirling around in your head, you will think you are walking around in a fog.  YOU ARE!  This is the mental fog that is created by needing to make too many decisions;  and it further obscures your ability to make “clear” decisions.

Sorry for giving you depressing news about someone’s depressing day.  You can just go back to bed and forget it all until you wake back up.  (Ooops, it’s still there.) Or today, you can decide to be proactive in an effort to clear those cobwebs from your mind.

Here are some ways of doing just that:

  • Meditation
  • Mental exercises that strengthen your mind and gives you focus
  • Giving your brain new information that it is not accustomed to.   This creates a type of growth and change called neural-plasticity.

If you are serious about helping yourself crawl out of the miasma you have created then you owe it to yourself to consider what ZOX Pro Training offers. You know you need to do something different.  You owe it to yourself and those you care about.  They are affected by your decisions too.

Remember: Anything you want to change or improve requires information you currently do not have.  You need essential information fast.  We have your solution.
