What is memory?

I constantly have people asking me about memory.

Forgetting…

Why do I forget things? Why do I forget what I just read?

Memory Discussion

What happens if you lose your memories? It often happens to people that are elderly. It also happens to people at any age and for many different reasons. Your brain is highly complex and makes trillions of connections each day. It is easy to see how something so complex could easily be derailed.

The best solution are activities that can prevent a complete collapse if things should take a turn for the worse. You can exercise your brain to be stronger. It has been scientifically proven that when you exercise and stress your brain past the threshold of neural plasticity, it triggers your brain to immediately respond by building new pathways, synapse, neurons, and memory. Building this within your brain makes it resilient; resistant to memory loss, Alzheimer’s Disease, and dementia.

I recently was interviewed on the topic of “Taking Control of Your Memory”. If you are interested at all in memory, you should listen to this interview. I cover a lot of topics around memory in the Interview. Even if you do not hear what you need at the start, keep listening. The essential information you need could be covered next. This interview could be the most important thing you have ever heard.

Shannon Panzo Interview – Understanding Memory

Important Points within Interview…

About the Hippocampus…

The short-term memory revolves around a particular structure within the brain is called the hippocampus.

The hippocampus is actually part of the limbic system, a primitive part of the brain; and if you ever want to increase your ability to memorize things, on a conscious level, the hippocampus is stimulated.

The function of the hippocampus is to forget; not to remember. What the hippocampus thinks is not important, it just forgets it. Only ~5 percent of the initial memory is passed over to the long term memory.

There are ways to bypass the hippocampus and actually take in information driving it straight home to the long-term memory where you never forget it; mainly by using the photographic memory you are born with.

Human Memory…

Aboriginal cultures quite often demonstrate they have extensive memory because they have entrained the memories. Because there is no written language they are able to recite the songs of the stories exactly the same way each time for thousands of years. Their natural memory is stronger than the average human that relies on the written language and technical devices that store information. People that tend to take a lot of pictures of their self, where they are, and what they are doing and with whom, often demonstrate incredibly poor memory.

Reading vs. photographic memory

When you learn to read, you are instructed to close off your access to the photographic memory. The two, reading and your photographic memory, are actually in opposition to each other and by doing so you take away something very important to your development.

Information is the key asset to any decision making process. If you have good information your decision-making process is more successful. If you don’t have good information your decision-making process will give you poor output, and it will not be reliable. This is why some people make really great decisions and some people don’t, simply based on the quality of information. Information is treated equally in the brain. It’s the importance at which we bestow upon information as to how our brain treats it.

The Myth about Reading…

The establishment has been lying to everyone about reading, from the start. The lie is very low key. When you are first taught to read, it starts. As a child, you do not have a point of reference to this as non-truth, so you don’t even understand the nature of the lie, “in order to get the information you must read every word verbatim”. As a child, you do not have information to denounce it as a lie, so you accept it through acquiescence. It becomes part of your reality.

Restoring your photographic memory…

As you walk through stores, your photographic memory is being stimulated and exercised. Every store you go into has things setting on the counter and shelves for you to buy. The packaging that those things come in are laden with subliminal advertising. The subliminal advertising actually utilizes your photographic memory to program you to buy stuff. But it also prepares your mind to take over the strengthened photographic memory to use for your own benefit. The method that gives control of your photographic memory back to you is Mental Photography.

After learning Mental Photography with our methods, subliminal advertising simply bounces off. You regain your ability to decide what you choose to buy, instead what others are choosing you to buy. Have you ever bought something you do not want, need, or have a use for? That is result of subliminal advertising. You can change it.

Learning in the Alpha State of Consciousness…

If a child is daydreaming, staring out the window of the classroom while the teacher is talking about whatever the topic is of the day, the child will typically learn so much more than the average person in the class because they’re already in the state of alpha – as they’re looking out the window daydreaming.

A Brain Game – Choice! What if I handed you a pot full of gems?

What if I handed you a pot full of gems? Choose 1

Brain Game

brain game
Put on your thinking cap! It is time to exercise your grey matter again. By the way, that does actually mean I am talking about your brain, how does the brain work. I don’t want you to think that I am patronizing you. I just like to let you know what I am talking about before I lose your attention. Another for instance is telling you about “yellow cake”. And since this reference to yellow cake would be uranium ore, then it would NOT be something you would want to eat. (This type of conversation is what you may hear from Sheldon on the TV Show, Big Bang Theory.)

Now that I have confused you as to where this is leading, let’s get on with our brain game and know the brain and its functions.

The Brain Game:

I hand you a pot of gems. The gems are of all sizes, shapes and colors. I even tell you that one of the gems is a 3 carat diamond. But the objective is for you to pick which gem is worth the most. If you do not pick the one that is worth the most, then you lose and you must place the gem you have selected back into the pot.

You have been given 8 hours to study books on all the different ways to grade and value gems. Any instruction manuals on the equipment is available as well. Gemmologists will tell you it takes a lot of experience to know what you are looking at.

I have made this most addictive game a little more confusing, because you have over 1000 gems to select from. I have even put a few duds in there, such as a 3 carat sized cubic zirconium. Even if you go by the standard types of valuing, you cannot accommodate all the alternatives. You can start with color, clarity, carat weight, etc. Pink diamonds are in vogue at the moment, soon to be replaced by another color. So a small pink diamond can be worth a lot more than a 3 carat white diamond (I don’t want to go down the track of the different cuts for the same stone. I want to keep this somewhat sain.)

You will be provided all the tools required and a table to sort them on. You will have all of the gemmologist’s tools to determine their worth. There is one catch. You have only 1 hour to make your selection. Therefore, you will either know it or you won’t. I could give a person 8 hours to make a decision. If they did not know what they were doing, it would still only be a guess.

Brain Game Lessons:

Let’s evaluate what you have learned so far:

Critical decisions result in a win or lose situation. It is either one or the other. Many decisions in life are like this. You have one chance to get it right.

Information is based at three levels.

Information – How accurate is the information you are gathering? Is it obsolete, or is it the type people will pay top dollar for?

Knowledge – Now you have enough in-depth information to be making assumptions and some decisions. You may still have holes in the information you have collected, but it is relatively whole. What you are missing is the experience of applying that information in the real world.

Wisdom – You have gained the experience. You can make decisions confidently, like an expert.
Life throws you duds once in a while. These tend to be life lessons.

In your circumstances, do you find that you are acting on the fickle whim of others? What may be valuable and praised for today, is yesterday’s news tomorrow. Make a list of life lessons learned in life.

“Don’t live on your Laurels. If you do, you are likely on the precipice of a fall.”

Time limits cause stress – Unless you ALREADY have the tools to accomplish the jobs in place and reliable, when you are given time limits your stress and anxiety will be your undoing. I am giving you 2 time limits; 8 hours to study, then 1 hour to make your selection.
Most people claim the possible is Impossible, and throw up their hands in defeat.

“Most people QUIT at the first signs of failure, even before it overtakes them.”

This means most people will not even guess on the 1 in 1000 chance of winning; even when they know nothing of the objective. 1 in 1000 is much better odds than winning the lottery. Only the presentation is different. Most people that play the lottery have never looked at the rules.

Winning the Brain Game:

How do you increase your chances of winning when you do not have a clue where to start?

Change the rules! (Actually, change what the rules imply.)

Once you understand the nature of the rules, you can compensate for many of the issues they bring on.

Time limits create a sense of urgency. This tactic is often used in sales. By keeping calm and taking control of your mind, you can easily dissipate the stress. Then you will know how the human mind works.

Perceived loss is deceiving: In this case, you are not losing something you already had in your possession. You are actually losing NOTHING. You only have a chance of GAIN.

The last thing you must account for is the lack of good information, knowledge, and the wisdom to work your way through the problem. Here is the place where most people throw up their arms and claim it is impossible.

As I mentioned earlier, if you ALREADY know what you are doing during the 8 hours of study, and everything you need is available to you to study with, how would you go about your study to make such a quantum leap in knowledge in just a short period of time? Would you use reading? Speed reading? Even if you were really good at speed reading you will still not possess the ability to transcend knowledge into wisdom.

The authors that wrote the books you are studying are the experts in their field. What if you were able to tap into their knowledge and wisdom they possess. What if that is possible? What if you could do it at the same time you are studying for 8 hours, without losing any time to this new objective of getting to know the author?
NOTE: I realize as you are reading this, you will be thinking only about the parts that are most interesting to you. You may even interpret things in the wrong way because reading is so ineffective that you will miss much of the pertinent information. You may want to reread this to gain better clarity of what I am presenting here.

Gaining Information using Quantum Physics

What does quantum physics have to do with it? Everything is energy and frequency. Even the words on the page have a meaning that is far removed from your conscious mind. This rarefied energy is loaded full of information for you to draw upon. This includes picking up the meaningful things you need to know, feel, and experience from the authors point of view. Here is your source of wisdom.

When the Impossible Becomes Possible

Most people already knowing about reading, even speed reading, would claim that I have set you up with an impossible task. How could you possibly gain that much information, knowledge, and wisdom to perform well within this brain game? How could you possibly gain enough expert information for you to become close to expert yourself in only a few hours, what it takes others years to do? You can. It is possible.

The answer here specifically is Mental Photography, or ZOXing, enhanced by the support techniques of Brain Management or ZOX Pro Training. BUT WAIT, there is an important fact. Before you are placed in a stressful situation such as this Gem Brain Game, you must be proficient with getting your results from the training you have received for using Mental Photography or ZOXing. That comes with your time and commitment. Your preparation is key to your success. You can use the results of this training again and again throughout your life – for your gains!

The BIG PICTURE:

The pot of gems is a metaphor. You have opportunities, or gems, placed before you all the time. It is your choice which you select, which have value, and which are duds. These are your experiences in life. Instead of spending your precious time chasing dead ends, and things that really have no value, wouldn’t it be better if you had an almost instant wisdom to base your decisions on; to rely both on fact and intuition giving you the leverage you need in life.

Solving a Big Problem:

You go through life. You are given opportunities that you must make decisions upon. Many of those decisions are based on better information that you do not have. Therefore, they are just guesses. Take the guess work out of your important decisions.

When should you be learning this process for your gains? There is no time like the present. It will prepare you for the future. The time for playing brain addicting games is over. If your future decisions sneak up on you before you have made your gains, then you have lost that opportunity, unless you are lucky enough to “guess” correctly.

Good luck with whatever strategy you choose to use in life.

Information Overload – Killing Your Brain?

Information Overload – Killing Your Brain?

Information Overload, Reading and Photographic Memory

Overwhelmed by information overload? Take a look at this!

According to statistics from WorldWideWebSize.com there are 7.39 billion pages on the internet and only 2,267,233,746 internet users. It is estimated that it would take one person 31,000 years to visit all sites available to them online without any sleep.

*YGB = Sorted on Yahoo!, Google and Bing

What would happen if you decided to become an expert in your chosen field? You would have to learn the information it takes to become that expert by reading information. We can’t just open a book and read it to become an expert. It takes at least four years of institutional studying, reading and due diligence. Or is there another way?

Where to find the information? On the Internet! But, you are still stuck with reading. Your PC can provide volumes in minutes, but you are still stuck with that same old way of doing things.

Using Your Photographic Memory for Internet Information

By the time you read the information available to make you an EXPERT in your chosen field, most of that information would be obsolete.

Let’s put your brain to work.  If you were to reverse-engineer what we have just covered, where is the bottleneck?  What is stopping you from covering the required information in only a little time?

The bigger the internet gets, the more information there is. The more we want to consume it. This has to stop somewhere. And it will.

Reading

The biggest problem here is it stops you from taking ACTION. When you try to consume more and more information every day, you start to notice that even though you’ve been reading tons of articles, eBooks, press release and so on the stream of incoming information seems to be overwhelming.

Therefore, you most likely will convince yourself that you need to be on a constant lookout for new information if you want to be able to accomplish anything in your life, work and/or passion.

What is your reading average – Photographic Memory

Reading speed averages ~250 words per minute – usually less than one page in a minute.
Wouldn’t it be nice if you could cover information like a living breathing computer, accessing millions of words per minute?  Wouldn’t it be great if you could be filling your mind with 25,000, 100,000, even 200,000 words per minute?  What about that photographic memory that you were born with?

Well, you better not take too long to think about it.  You are not just being left in the dust; you are buried and pushing up posies!  Watch out, another day gone,  here comes another billion pages at you.

I Don’t Read, I ZOX !!!

Readers and Speed Readers Beware – Mental Photography, ZOXing

Reading

Imagine pulling open a good long novel while sitting in your favourite chair in front of an open fireplace for a good long read.  Taking your time to absorb yourself in the plot as it thickens, the evening wears on. You find that even though you have been reading for over an hour, you have only gone through about 40 pages.  If you do the same thing every night for 10 days, you finally be at the end of your 400 page novel.  That’s fine, if you have plenty of time to burn.

Now, imagine what your employer would say if you told him you would be happy to peruse a 400 page report over the next 10 days and get back to him then.  What if you were to speed read instead?  Reading Doesn’t Work!

Speed Reading

It is no secret that when you speed read, you are neither reading everything, nor are you taking it all in for accuracy.  How do you feel about your skill with speed reading?  Do you feel that you have missed a lot?  Even if the document now only takes you one or two hours instead of 10 hours, do you feel your accuracy of information is there?  Are you confident in presenting your findings after just speed reading?  Probably not.

Let’s look at the statistics.  You have been told that reading is the most accurate way of dealing with information, right?  Did you know that you will immediately forget 50% of what you just read?  Can you imagine how ineffective reading is when you forget 95% of what you read, in only 48 hours?  Did you know that if you were given a comprehensive test covering all the topics you passed tests on in school that you would most likely fail miserably as an adult?

But when you look at speed reading, you would probably think that since you are using fewer words to get your information that you would be even worse off.  Right?…  Wrong!  Statistics prove that speed reading has higher comprehension of information, and even a longer hang time of the information than reading.

So why would people that learn speed reading, and know the statistics, go back to much slower ineffective reading for their information?  Most people do not have confidence in speed reading.  Even though the statistics prove otherwise, people were taught form an early age that reading is “the way”.  Speed Reading Fails!

Photographic Memory

There is another way to gain information that is much more effective that reading or speed reading.  When you were born, you had a photographic memory.  It isn’t limited to just seeing either.  It is a photographic memory on all senses.  It is called the eidetic memory.  Better yet, it is completely natural!

There is a new way to learn that uses that photographic memory you misplaced.  It is called Mental Photography.  It was invented in 1975 by Richard Welch from speed reading.

I Don’t Read – I ZOX!

The Best Speed Reading is NOT Speed Reading! It’s ZOXing!

Ah, speed reading!   If you’re like most people, speed reading probably conjures up romantic imagery of being able to just whip right through all kinds of wonderful books and poems and blogs and other types of documents at record speed.   You want to read as fast as possible so that you can get on with the life you want to live.  Sounds GREAT, doesn’t it?.

But, of course, the dream of speed reading doesn’t really reach enough people who DESPERATELY NEED IT!

And this is no fault of their own!

Many people will do their very best to diligently follow instructions to get the most out of standard speed reading courses.   However, try as they might, they never quite get the sensation that they can confidently read what they need to read in a short period of time.

And, too, in a certain sense, it’s not really the fault of the standard speed reading courses, either.

But, the truth of the matter is this: those traditional speed reading courses, just weren’t designed to be robust enough to help you get the very best out of speed reading…

Enter ZOXing!

Haven’t heard about it?  Don’t worry!  You will!  And you’ll be glad you did!  So, stay tuned to our blog as we share with you how the concept of ZOXing can help you with your speed reading and much, much, MUCH, much more!
